Tateho Chemical Industries started out in the town of Ako, facing the Seto Inland Sea, a place that enjoys a mild climate and that has an abundance of marine resources. Ako has been associated with the salt industry as far back as the Nara Period (600-784 A.D.), and in 1966 Tateho was established as a technical group to carry on with the work undertaken by previous generations and find a use for bittern, the substance left after salt has been separated from seawater, and produce new materials useful to society.
Tateho is providing advanced products to the world; electrofused magnesia, single crystal electrofused magnesia, magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide, whisker and ceramics, all developed through our unique crystallization control technology.
